Original group of (4) items, including (1) 59-page (as paginated) First Draft script for the Friends Pilot, titled "Friends Like Us", dated March 3, 1994, with "FRIENDS PILOT" handwritten in black ink on the spine, (1) informational pamphlet, likely distributed to live audience members when the show was still titled "Six of One", featuring details about the characters, actors, and producers, (1) blue lined notebook with 6-pages of a handwritten draft for an unaired episode of Friends, including a scene where Joey tries to set up Ross and Chandler with women, and (1) novelty faux license featuring Chandler Bing's information and photo, with "GOOD FOR 1 FREE CUP OF CAFé LATTE" on the verso. Items range in size from 2" x 3.25" to 11" x 9". Portions of the script were rewritten or refined before the pilot episode aired. Phoebe (Lisa Kudrow) originally explains that she can't help Ross (David Schwimmer) with his furniture because she has to work, and in the final version, she instead says, "I wish I could, but I don't want to," sharpening the laugh at the end of the scene. When Monica (Courteney Cox) is on a date with "Paul the Wine Guy," rather than simply replying "Yow" to his confession, she performs a full spit take in his face. Later, Chandler (Matthew Perry) teases Joey (Matt LeBlanc) about his past role in a regional production of Pinocchio, adding physical comedy by dancing after him while singing, "Once I was a wooden boy". Some scenes from the first draft did not make it to air, including one in which Rachel (Jennifer Aniston) visits Chandler's office to have him review her meager resume. Also included was a tag scene at the end of the episode in which Ross's ex-wife, Carol, reveals she is pregnant, a plot development that was ultimately suspended until Episode 2. Items exhibit handling wear and age, including creasing and folding of the paper components. The notebook has several pages ripped out and minor water stains.
